One of the most common questions new patients have is what actually happens once they begin care.
At Precision Chiropractic, care is designed around a simple principle: identify a meaningful problem, make a precise correction when necessary, and then measure how the patient responds.
This means your experience may look different from a chiropractic office where the same areas of the spine are routinely adjusted at every visit.
Step 1: Start With a Consultation
The process begins with a conversation.
We want to understand what you have been experiencing, how the problem developed, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping to accomplish.
The consultation also gives you an opportunity to understand our approach and decide whether further evaluation makes sense.
Step 2: A comprehensive Examination
If we believe further evaluation is appropriate, the next step is a detailed examination.
Depending on your individual situation, this may include orthopedic and neurological testing, postural and functional assessment, upper cervical evaluation, and advanced imaging when clinically indicated.
Our goal is to determine whether there is an identifiable problem and whether that problem appears relevant to what you are experiencing.
Step 3: Review the Findings
After the examination, we sit down with you and explain what we found.
We want you to understand:
- what appears abnormal
- why we believe it may matter
- whether upper cervical care is appropriate
- what we recommend
- how we intend to measure progress
You should understand the reasoning behind a recommendation before deciding how you want to proceed.
Step 4: A Precise Upper Cervical Correction
When an upper cervical correction is indicated, the correction is designed specifically around your examination and imaging findings.
Upper cervical corrections are gentle and generally do not involve routine twisting or cracking of the neck.
The objective is not simply to create movement or a popping sound. It is to make a specific correction to the problem we identified.
Step 5: Reassess Before Doing More
Being under care at Precision Chiropractic does not mean being adjusted at every visit.
After a correction, we reassess.
If the objective findings suggest that the correction is holding and you are progressing appropriately, another correction may not be necessary that day.
We want to give your body time to respond and adapt rather than repeatedly introducing an intervention simply because you have an appointment.
What Does a Regular Visit Look Like?
Follow-up visits are generally much simpler than the initial examination.
We evaluate how you are doing, reassess the findings we use to monitor your progress, and determine whether another correction is necessary.
Some visits may include an upper cervical correction. Others may involve assessment without an adjustment.
The visit is driven by what we find—not by a predetermined assumption that you must be adjusted every time you walk through the door.
How Do We Know If Care is Working?
How you feel matters, but symptoms are not the only thing we consider.
We look at the combination of your symptoms, function, examination findings, and objective measures to determine whether the problem identified at the beginning of care appears to be changing.
Periodic reassessment helps us determine whether care should continue, change, become less frequent, or conclude.
Care Should Change as You Improve
The amount of care recommended early in the process may not be the same amount needed later.
As the underlying problem becomes more stable and the patient is maintaining improvement, the frequency of visits should generally change accordingly.
Our goal is not to create dependence on chiropractic care. It is to help patients reach the point where their spine is functioning more efficiently and requires less intervention.
What if Something Changes?
Health is not static. New injuries, physical stress, illness, changes in activity, or other factors can affect how a patient is functioning.
If your situation changes, we reassess rather than simply continuing the same plan indefinitely.
Ready to Find Out Whether This Approach Makes Sense for You?
You do not need to decide in advance whether you want chiropractic care.
The first step is simply a complimentary consultation with Dr. Lin so we can understand what you are experiencing and determine whether further evaluation makes sense.
